Roger Murdoch (ロジャー・マードック, Rojā Mādokku?) is a board member of DEM.
Summary[]
Murdoch is one of the more openly DEM board members who vocally oppose Westcott, the DEM managing director, because of his recent actions in the Japanese branch and the damage it received. However, when he and other DEM Board Members try to vote him out of his leadership position over DEM because of that reason, they have their arms sliced off by Ellen and their votes are registered as not counting.
Appearance[]
Murdoch is described as a middle-aged man wearing glasses. He is said to be younger than the other board members, despite still looking older than Westcott. In the anime, he has greyish black hair which reaches his eyebrows, and is shown having prominent cheekbones. After Ellen cuts off his arm, he is shown wearing a cast to help with the reattachment.
Personality[]
Originally, Murdoch was quite composed and scheming, being willing to put up a diplomatic vote in order to remove Westcott from his position. However, after losing his arm to the man, any signs of composure is replaced by being vindictive and unhinged to the extent of being willing to sacrifice an entire city to kill Westcott. He is also overly cautious in his preparations, having planned to drop two additional satellites in case the first one failed. Even after becoming more unfettered in his efforts for revenge, Murdoch is still charismatic enough to convince other members of the board to betray Westcott.
Plot[]
Natsumi Change[]
A few days later, Murdoch along with the other members that have their arms severed were seen with their arms reattached with the help of a Medical Realizer. While they were sitting at the table, Murdoch suggested they should do something about it and proposed they should kill Westcott while he was in Tengu City. Murdoch intended to use three of the Humpty Dumpty satellites and throw them into Tengu City to kill Westcott. However, many of the members were unsure to follow Murdoch's plan, as the whole city and its entire population would be destroyed as collateral damage. But soon after a long debate, they all accept the idea and use the magic crystals to activate the satellites.
After the events, Ellen discovers Murdoch and the other board members' conspiracy and has the DEM military forces arrest them.
