Qlipha Crystals (反霊結晶クリファ, Kurifa?. lit. "Inverse Spirit Crystals") are alternate forms of Sephira Crystals, which they transform into when a Spirit enters their Inverse Form. They allow access to Demon Kings and serve as a Spirit's source of power while in their Inverse Form.

Usage[]

Bonding[]

Similar to Sephira Crystals, Qlipha Crystals can be absorbed into the body of a human upon making physical contact. That person is then given the powers of a Spirit's Inverse Form. However, when given to an ordinary human, the powers will cause them to lose all sense of rationality and go on a rampage. This necessitated the need for Mio to transplant them in multiple hosts and uses them as filters to gradually refine and purify the Qlipha Crystals into Sephira Crystals. Due to his heritage as a Magus, Westcott can take in a pure Qlipha Crystal without any side effects. However, even he admits that his body couldn't handle taking in multiple Qlipha Crystals at once.

Removal[]

Artemisia Bell Ashcroft has shown the ability to remove a Qlipha Crystal from a Spirit's body through unknown means using her Territory. Ellen Mira Mathers says she possesses a similar ability. During the refining process, Mio would kill multiple hosts to reclaim back the crystals. After meeting Kurumi Tokisaki, she would delegate the killing job to her and reclaim them after Kurumi had finished her job and left. This process would last until Kurumi discovered the truth behind Mio's actions. Kurumi herself was able to remove Westcott's Qlipha Crystal simply by shoving her hand through his chest.

History[]

According to Inverse Tohka, the Qlipha Crystals first created when the First Spirit decided to divide her power. The Inverse Spirit speculates that the First Spirit reversed their properties into Sephira Crystals in order to make them more compatible with human hosts.

Qlipha Crystals were first introduced in story when Artemisia Bell Ashcroft removed Nia's from her body and transferred it to Westcott.

Trivia[]

  • Similar to how the name Sephira is derived from Sephirot Tree, the word Qlipha is named after the Qliphoth Tree.
  • Oddly enough, despite being an Inverse Spirit, Tenka still refers to herself as a true Spirit born from the Sephira Crystal.
